I started collecting Herend when I lived in Nassau Bahamas in the 1980s.
I would go to a little shop on George St. downtown called Francis Peek Ltd. and ring the bell for enter by a
Very Small Proper Irish Woman who was very old at the time named Ms. Mc Clenanan.
Store has been closed for many years. Over my time living in Nassau, I acquired a collection of Bunny Rabbits in Orange, Blue and Green Fishnet Design.
I would wait months for my Bunny to arrive from Hungary and for Ms. Mc Clenanan to let me know what she ordered and what I could purchase next .. always with a few months time line for arrival of my next precious bunny and always with a letter starting with the words: Dear Madam.
Its time to sell some of my bunnies in the hopes that they will go to a good home and for someone to keep them safe and make you happy as happy as they have made me .

The Herend Porcelain Manufactory was founded in Hungary in 1826, but it became a force in the world of figurines in 1858, when one of the company's artists took a fish-scale design he'd admired on a Chinese Plate and applied it to a rooster figurine to simulate the look of feathers. That simple fishnet pattern became Herend's signature design, which, in the intervening century and a half, has been applied to hard-paste porcelain cats and dogs, lions and tigers, and all sorts of barnyard animals, including a half dozen or so roosters.
